Reunion '10
This past weekend we had our annual Allen family reunion. It's always a fun time, and you never know what to expect. We left for Flowell Thursday after Spencer was done working. By the time we got there, mostly everyone was there already. We just hung out, ate, chit-chatted, and played some bunco! (I seemed to be the only one that actually YELLED when I, or grandma, got a bunco. I guess i've learned this from my group. he he)
Friday morning we did a 5k. We'll like 9 out of 66 people did a 5k. I was the driver to pick up the slackers :) There wasn't tons of competition, but Spencer said he was NOT going to come in 2nd. He ran with my cousin Megan at the beginning, but found out soon enough that she was listening to her ipod so he decided he better just run in front of her since he couldn't talk to her. (it would of probably been creepy if he did just run right next to her the whole time anyways) He ended up coming in first and his time was about 24 minutes. Pretty good for not running for about 6 years!
(when I can round up a few pictures of them all running, ill post them)
After the siblings weighed in for biggest loser, everyone showered, and headed into Fillmore to grab breakfast at Dave and Vickis. We all had omelets. They were so yummy and Spencer was very impressed how fast they got everyone through the line.
After breakfast we all loaded up in trucks and headed out west to go to "Lace Curtains"
They just look like regular rocks in the pictures, but they were actually pretty cool! Our truck said it was 103 outside, so many of us were pretty much dying of heat, but there was plenty of water and it was fun to just spend time with the family.

This was at like the top of a hill. Cool view, but too hot!
After our excursion we headed back in to Dave's for some dinner. Then to a game of softball.

Raden wasn't very happy.

We had to climb this big ol' rock to get up in here but you can't tell by the picture. The worst part is the rocks aren't easy to climb because there is lots of little rocks and dirt on them so you keep slipping.

If you look close you can see the ball flying. AWESOME!
Tay LOVED the dirt.
but I thought this picture was hilarious!

Little Zoey
She loved her rolls.
The next morning we had breakfast burritos, then did some golfing. Well Spencer and Ty did some golfing... of should I say driving on the green. he he
That afternoon we got ready cuz we were headed up to Farr West. Before we left we got Spencer, Tyler, and Ember to do under the blanket. They were all good sports, and there was lots of laughs!

After all the fun, we left for IKEA! I was in heaven. I love all the nick-nacks but would probably never buy any of the big items there. Spencer was such a good sport and was right by me the whole time. Then we were back on the road to Farr West. It was so good to see our friends again, and their cute kiddos!
Sunday we went to a farewell and back to chat a little before heading out. Hit Sam's club on the way out (another fave!) and back to southern Utah we were headed.
This was a busy, but actually way relaxing weekend. We had a blast since we left the house Thursday. I can't wait for next year!
And a big thanks to the Millers for letting us crash at their house!
2 super awesome comments! :
I tried to download those 5K pictures from my parents but her computer is SOOOOO slowwwww! So I will have to download them on my computer and get them on there. Sorry.
Loved the reunion though. It was good to see everyone.
Wow! Look at all these pics and blogs. You are awesome :) Looks like you had a fun time at the reunion.
